La Olla Mexican Cafe in Tucson

Should or known by the decor upon walking in that this would not be real authentic Mexican. Then upon seating noticing that there wasn’t a Mexican in the building patrons or employees, definitely not the cooks. Ordered fried tacos.. shell was fried...credit given for not serving store bought taco shells) but I think I had a flat hamburger patty inside. The combo came with rice..which tasted like uncle bens and or prison rice. Pretty sure beans were canned Rosarita that were doctored up. The calabacitas was the only thing I think that wasn’t messed up. Salsa I’m thinking was more like tomatoes just tomatoes...don’t normally leave reviews but I had to for my fellow Mexicans ... don’t eat here if you are looking for authentic Mexican. I am convinced that all the great reviews were all written by white folks. Giving the restaurant credit nice building pretty clean ...food is food but not real authentic.

The "salsa" is like ketchup it's not hot. Sometimes you get the menus after someone behind you already has. The beans are better than a lot of places that serve refried beans. It's a very popular place to eat though & very small seating area for how popular they are

They were open for sit down. The jalapeño margarita was very good and the beer was served in a nice cold tall glass. The guac was definitely homemade and fresh and the shrimp Del Mar was extremely good.

Has always been one of my favorite Mexican restaurants however I recently did a take-out order and noticed none of the cooks in the kitchen or wearing gloves and that disturbs me

Was great to be able to dine inside again. After signing in we were quickly seated with brand new menus. Ordered our meals and as usual quick prepared and brought out to is. Although tables have been greatly reduced they still had a small crowd of enthusiastic diners.

I'm always looking to support local restaurants in my area. This was my first visit to this location for pickup and the food was fantastic. The food was so good my wife went back for another pickup. If you like Mexican food stop by and give them a try. You'll be glad you did!

Perfection. LA Olla has an amazing menu. And the food is as good is it sounds. The staff are super friendly too. We will certainly be visiting here again soon.

We like a booth instead of a table but lately they always refuse because we are only two people. The excuse was a reservation was needed and we tried that but still were refused. Another excuse was to come early so we did that and they refused a booth again. Each time we could see plenty of booths available so we left and went to another restaurant. The food is pretty good at La Olla but plenty of other places are just as good or better and will seat you at a booth.Please just put on your website "booths are for three or four people only" so others know to not waste time jumping through hoops that lead to nowhere.

Excellent. Fresh, creative, delicious food. Great service. The best Mexican I've had in Tucson, and I've tried almost all of them.

came with big portions food was really good we were really surprised since we've lived 2 min away for 2 years and never tried it but glad we did . sonoran dog was great

Good food, homecooked traditional vibe. Lots of nice desert options too. Resonably priced.

It was our first time to this place and we will certainly be back for the food, it was delicious and more than we could finish. Just beware if you order margaritas made with Patron they are more than double the price that was listed on the menu. I do expect to pay more for top shelf tequila but when the menu says $7.00 for the standard I didn't expect to be asked to pay $15.00. I definitely will not be having a margarita with my meal next time.

Delicious as always and service was better this time even though it's the busiest I've seen them in the past few months. I took my friends who are visiting and told them this is the best in Tucson. They were both very happy. Enchiladas, tacos, soft tacos, chimichangas, beans, rice, ...everything was super tasty

We absolutely LOVE everything about La Olla!! The food is delicious, large portions, a great value and the servers are awesome. Always treat you like family. Our favorite restaurant and it’s right in the neighborhood. We have ordered take out twice now due to the pandemic closures and the food was just as delicious as always. Fresh and fabulous!! Can’t wait until we can come in again.

Great waitress, yummy food, fair prices, what more could you want ?I double dog dare you to find something there you don't enjoy, I don't think you will ! 😋

Little pricey but good food

Super friendly staff, the food was amazing, and the calabacitas out of this world!

I figured I would give this place a try since it's right down the road. The food is very overpriced for what you get. We had to order takeout due to the restaurant being closed from Covid and all of the food was just tossed into a large plate and everything was covered in refried beans by the time I opened it at home. The beef taco that I got looks like they just made a hamburger and ripped it in half and tossed it in the taco shell. Honestly ate probably a third of my meal.

Wonderful staff super courteous and friendly. Food was very good . We waited 20 minutes to get seated and another 20 minutes to get our meal but the place was packed and every employee was working as hard and as fast as they could. Would recommend this restaurant. It was a Friday night by the way. Thank you Trista great job.

Very very good! I tried it besause of the ratings! This was some of the best food I've had period! It was busy, but the service was still very good, and friendly! And the hostess and waitresses were hustling! The tamale pie was phenomenal!

They do not require or even allow their employees to wear masks. Very dangerous and disrespectful to other members of our community by encouraging the spread of COVID-19 like this. I will not be getting food from them ever again.

The service and our dinner was great. There was a small wait to get a table but that's usually a good sign as far as I'm concerned that the place is popular and your gonna be in for a good experience. Would definitely suggest this restaurant if your in Marana and want a comfortable place to eat with a good energy

Food was wonderful! Chips and salsa were great! Just enough heat in the salsa. The best Mexican food I've tried in Tucson so far. We will be back. Plus the beans and rice are authentic.

EW. This place is DISGUSTING. Going here puts you at higher risk of contracting COVID19. The employees don’t wear masks due to the owners saying they don’t need to. They also don’t wear gloves and hygiene isn’t very good. THIS IS AGAINST HEALTH REGULATIONS.

Stopped to order take out today at noon. Two unmasked customers seated next to each other in the dining area. Counter person taking orders not wearing a mask nor was the cook preparing the food who also was not wearing gloves. Looks like a great place to pick up COVID-19.

Oh my gosh. We have been on a hunt for delicious Mexican food for months. This place came highly recommended. We agree! Delicious, innovative food, and reasonable prices. We had the #5 and were so pleased. The salsa and Guacamole tasted fresh and had just the right amount of spice. We will be back! The waitstaff was friendly, professional and knowledgeable about the food. Yummo!
